Ending on Positive Notes

3/9/2016

Dear rasikas

We are pleased to announce that the 2016 fundraising campaign has come to an end, albeit a bittersweet one as we reached only 80% of the goal. As they say, if you believe in something and believe in it with all your heart, the entire universe will conspire to somehow make it happen. The organizers and volunteers behind Hamsadhwani will strive relentlessly to do the best within the constraints. For all those who contributed, thank you, for your unflinching support! You are the ones who make this labor of love worthy of its noble ideals.
  • A quick bookkeeping request. If your company offers corporate matching, please do us a huge favor and take a few minutes to record your contribution within the next few days. The 80% number is based on the assumption that corporate matching donations will be received where applicable.
  • During the last year, we have been constantly seeking feedback from rasikas during and after every concert. It turns out that the most common feedback is regarding the day and time of the events. Over talking to many of you, a pattern emerged - Saturdays at 6:30 pm seems to work best for most. We are happy to note that the new schedule will go into effect starting from the very next concert coming up on March 19th.
  • The obvious question that this new timing brings up is about dinner. While evaluating the options, seemingly out of the blue, a group of young ladies who are passionate about all things culinary came forward with a proposal. They will make fresh homemade vegetarian food available at each of the concerts for a very affordable price of $5 / person. What is not to like when you put words like fresh, homemade, vegetarian, and food in the same sentence. Of course we said yes!
  • Lastly, a reminder about the next concert by a uber-talented all-women crew, in keeping with International Women's Day. Join us with your family (on Saturday, March 19th at 6:30 pm) and be prepared to be enthralled, spellbound, and rejuvenated.
This is the last fundraising campaign announcement for the year. As the great philosopher Plato once said, "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything." Dear rasikas, we thank you for making the world a richer, fuller, friendlier place to live through your support and appreciation for music. Take a bow.

Thank You

" Hamsa(swan) is the bird which brought king Nala and princess Damayanthi together. Now Hamsadwani is bringing Rasikas of music and young artists together to render a great service. The young artists are already becoming famous. Wish the organization all the best for continuing this valuable service."
