Ajay Narasimha was introduced to Carnatic music from a young age by his parents Smt. Rama and Sri. M.J. Narasimha. He is a student of Hemmige Sri. V. Srivatsan, a leading disciple of Sangitha Kalanidhi Palghat Sri. K.V. Narayanasawamy. Ajay has had the fortune of accompanying renowned musicians including Smt. M.S. Sheela, Sri D. Seshachary, Sri O.S. Thygarajan, Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan, and Sri D. Balakrishna, as well as his own Guru around the US. He has also performed in many of the major music sabhas in Chennai and Bangalore. Ajay resides in the Bay Area with his family and works in biotech. Anil Narasimha has been learning Carnatic vocal music from Hemmige Sri V. Srivatsan, a leading disciple of Palghat Sri K.V. Narayanaswamy. Since his debut vocal concert at the age of eleven, Anil has given concerts in Chennai, Bangalore, Mysore, Cleveland, and in many other cities in the USA. He received the first prize in most categories at the 2003 Cleveland Music Festival, including AlApana, niraval, swarams, and pallavi singing. Anil adheres to the bANi established by the renowned Ariyakkudi/KVN music school. He also had the unique opportunity of learning and performing with Pandit Ravi Shankar, and was fortunate to perform at the renowned Hollywood Bowl in 2009. Anil received his Ph.D. in Biology from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University in the Department of Genetics. Shubha Chandramouli, a disciple of Sri. Poovalur Srinivasan, is an accomplished artist in the field of Carnatic music, following in the grand lineage of the legendary Sri. Pazhani Subramania Pillai, Mylatoor Sami Iyer, and P.A. Venkataraman. Shubha has given mridangam accompaniment to several renown musicians such as Sangeetha Kalanidhi R.K. Srikanthan, T.V. Gopalakrishnan, Flute T. Vishwa, Chitraveena N. Ravikiran, Flute S. Shashank, and Malladi Brothers to name a few. Shubha is a regular performer in Chennai during the December music season, and has also performed several times at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. Shubha is also a Carnatic vocalist, trained initially from her mother Sunanda Chandramouli, and continued advanced training under Smt. Geetha Ramanathan Bennett and Sri. Delhi P. Sunderrajan. She has given several vocal concerts around the US and India. An MBA graduate from Boston University, Shubha currently resides in the bay area working at Seagate Technology in Strategic Planning & Finance. Manasa Suresh was initiated into Carnatic music under her mother, Anu Suresh. Since 2008, Manasa has been under the guidance of Padmabhushan Sri. P. S. Narayanaswamy. She also learns from Kunnakudi M. Balamurali Krishna, one of the prime disciples of Sri. PSN. Manasa has won many prizes over the years, most recently the first prize at the Times Thyagaraja Awards, Chennai, and the Sangeeta Yuva Puraskar award from Kalalaya, USA. She has also performed at various venues in the US, UK, and India, and is a regular feature at the annual Cleveland Thyagaraja Festival and the Chennai December season. A Fulbright alumnus in the field of Carnatic music and a graded artist of All India Radio, Chennai, Manasa is a graduate of the University of California, Davis, and currently works in the Bay Area. |
