The Music Gods Must be Crazy

6/18/2015

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Children and Seniors,
Families and Singles,
And all the rasikas out there,

It is with immense pride and pleasure that we invite you to SARANGA 2015 - Hamsadhwani's Youth Music Festival, coming up this weekend - June 20 & 21, 2015 - at the Simi Valley Senior Center.

Did you know that the likelihood of intelligent life on another planet is less than 0.01 per cent over four billion years? Did you know that musicians are more intelligent than most people? Given that Carnatic music is one of the most difficult musical art forms, and that Hamsadhwani selects musicians only and purely on merit, it means the odds of some of the smartest talent of North America (or perhaps this world, or perhaps the universe) coming together to perform literally in our backyard is so infinitesimally small that a new number has to be invented to represent it!

If that doesn't convince you to join us this weekend for the 2-day musical extravaganza, let us remind you that
- the event is completely free to attend,
- complimentary breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served,
- snacks, coffee and chai will be available from time to time.
Now, if that doesn't convince you... well, you better have a really good excuse!

It is a fact that every one of us leads a busy life and that there are several activities that demand our attention and time. Since the Youth Festival runs over two days (10 AM - 6 PM each day), please feel free to drop in (or drop off your kids and family) whenever time and mood permits. The entire Hamsadhwani team, including the organizers, the talented musicians, and the extraordinary selfless volunteers toiling away in the background, would find great meaning in our labor of love towards Carnatic music justified by one thing and one thing only - your presence!

Join us this weekend for a celebration of musical talent like no other. We look forward to seeing you all.

Thank You

    Quote

" Hamsa(swan) is the bird which brought king Nala and princess Damayanthi together. Now Hamsadwani is bringing Rasikas of music and young artists together to render a great service. The young artists are already becoming famous. Wish the organization all the best for continuing this valuable service."
