WHY I LIKE MUSIC CONCERTS?

Why I like music concerts ?

Music helps me remember and memorize stuff quickly. The reason why I like the concerts is because I like to listen to boys or girls singing. Another reason I like the concert is  they help me know  and listen to different ragams and songs all in one place.  These concerts help me sit at one place for long time which I can’t otherwise do. During music concerts we all put talams by looking at the singers. Music concerts help me practice the talams.  I always wonder how these singers practice and sing like that.  Indhu aunty tells us that anybody can become a singer if they practice and practice.  Music concerts inspire me. They are fun and I wish I can become a  singer like Indhu aunty.

MUSIC MAKES ME HAPPY !!

HOW THE MUSICIANS OF HAMSADHWANI INSPIRED ME?

How The Musicians of Hamsadwani Inspired me?
Setting big goals are hard. Achieving them is harder. But inspiring someone to set goals and achieve them, is even harder, and that’s what the young musicians of Hamsadwani do. Before I listened to these musicians, I wasn’t big on music. But watching concerts with amazing rhythm and well co-ordinated instruments captivated me. I wanted to become a musician. Shortly after, I started pursuing this goal. I currently play the cello, and will be in the orchestra next year. I also sing Carnatic and Western music. These musicians have definitely turned my life around.

WHY SHOULD WE LISTEN TO LIVE CONCERTS?

Why should we listen to live concerts?

The main reason is that you will learn. I enjoy going to live concerts. I wasn’t like this when I first started to learn carnatic music.  My mom would make me to come to the concerts. I wasn’t interested in the concert. But, my mom would still make me sit and listen. Today, I thank her for that. Listening to live concerts is very important and has impacted the way I sing.  But, how? As you listen, you learn. I am sure that you have heard your guru sing a song at class or at a concert. The same way you listen to your guru sing a song and then learn from it, is the same way you can learn from live concerts. During a live concert, you are exposed to the musician and/or the accompanists. Your eyes see the thalam as your ears listen to the ragam. You are also able to see how to present the song/songs on stage.  Soon, you are able to understand the ragam, improve your own style of singing, and know how to present the song. As you learn all of this, you build a strong foundation. This foundation helps you learn difficult things like kritis.

TRY THIS!

  1. Go to a live concert.
  2. After you go home, play the same songs you listened to online.
What is the difference? Well, you cannot see anything. You are not able to see the thalam, so it is hard to figure out the rhythm. The atmosphere is also different. No, not the air around you but the enthusiasm. When you listen to a live concert, at the end of a song there is always a great round of applause. I think that the singers encouraged by this, so they might sing better than usual. Since the singer will sing better, you will probably learn a little more seeing it live than just listening to it at home.

WHY IS MUSIC IMPORTANT?

Why Is Music Important?
Every culture makes music and all music is beautiful in its own way. In my life, Carnatic music plays a very important role. To me, music is important because it changes the mind. Music makes individuals think and imagine in ways they never did before. Specifically, carnatic music has many ragas, thalams, and composers. These components play with your mind and make you feel happy and relaxed. Carnatic Music creates strong feelings and strong memories. When you perform Carnatic music, you feel magical. When you listen to Carnatic music, you feel sensational. Either way, Carnatic music makes you feel wonderful. The songs have special rhythms and are sung with passion. The best part about Carnatic music is that anyone can sing it, and anyone can enjoy it. Although Carnatic music, compared to other types, is very difficult, when sung correctly, the unique songs sound very beautiful. The role music plays in our life is irreplaceable. Throughout my years of training in Carnatic music, I have learned that music provides us with enjoyment, knowledge, and culture, and I definitely recommend listening or performing this art.

" Hamsa(swan) is the bird which brought king Nala and princess Damayanthi together. Now Hamsadwani is bringing Rasikas of music and young artists together to render a great service. The young artists are already becoming famous. Wish the organization all the best for continuing this valuable service."
